Northern Flicker Films is the Portland, Oregon-based production company of writer/director Brian Padian. Brian studied filmmaking at Humboldt State University and holds an MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute where he was awarded the Jack Oakie Memorial Scholarship for Comedic Screenwriting. In Los Angeles he apprenticed with screenwriter Barbara Turner and later worked at Castle Rock Entertainment. After relocating to Portland Brian received a Regional Arts  + Culture Council Project Grant for his short film noir The Big Black Dark and another for his debut feature film  the black sea. He is a co-founder of the Great Notion Filmmmaker Collective and a 2015 Fellow at the Stowe Story Labs. When not writing/directing or parenting 2 small children Brian can be found seeking funds for several projects.To learn more please contact him here.
