thoughts: This video is made with 16 mm footage from a film I made way back in college (for Ann Alter's Cinematography II class at Humboldt State 1995 ) and repurposed and updated to fit the song. The video is a brisk 100 seconds and features a lot of George H of running through the woods but you'll also see earlier versions of Margaret M, Matt S, Red F, Suzanne D, and others. It was a hall of mirrors to work with this old footage, shot long ago when I was shiny and aspirant and still forming myself, in a house/town I used to live in, unaware that 27 years in the future the footage would find its final purpose (or at least another one), still in touch with most of the people in the video to varying degrees and married to one of them. Time is a funny thing.

This is a trailer I cut for Margaret Malone’s book People Like You. Nearly all the photographs are by her and she taped her own voice over so all my work was really just assembling it but it was really fun to do. I might have suggested the 31 Knots song that plays under it too.
